Good News and Bad News!

Good News, This is still a Lunch Ride to Lake Lanier Islands at the Land Shark Bar and Grill https://lakelanier.landsharkbarandgrill.com This is a chapter ride open to all members so please come ride with us and thank you to those that continue to support the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation!

Bad news, Covid 19 stole another rally as the Atlanta Ride For Kids will go virtual again this year due to Covid 19!

The following is an email I received from the Ride For Kids organization:

Thank you so much for being a part of the Ride for Kids community. Your support is helping the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation bring more researchers to the field, discover new treatments, and change the outcome for kids battling the deadliest childhood cancer.

Over the past several weeks, we’ve been closely monitoring conditions around the country. After assessing current conditions in your community, we made the difficult decision to shift your local Ride for Kids event to an all-virtual program.

We know Ride for Kids is a meaningful way for the motorcycling community to come together to make a difference, and we have worked with our national partners Honda and the Comoto Family of Brands on the following ways for supporters to engage virtually with the Ride for Kids community on Sept. 12:

Get started by downloading Comoto’s REVER app and joining the Ride for Kids Million Mile Challenge, where you can log your miles and connect with other Ride for Kids riders across the country. Plus, REVER will donate 2.5 cents to PBTF for every mile logged!
Tune into the virtual National Ride for Kids Day ceremony the evening of Sept. 12 to see if you’re a winner in our Honda motorcycle drawings! Register by Friday, Sept. 10 to be entered to win. Check out rideforkids.org for details on the drawing and our fundraising incentives program.
Celebrate Honda’s 30th anniversary as national presenting sponsor by checking out and bidding on their Iconic Motorbikes auctions of three rare, zero-mile Honda motorcycles, a 2005 Repsol Honda CBR1000RR, a 2007 Repsol Honda CBR1000RR, and a 2009 Repsol Honda CBR1000RR.
And gear up with Comoto’s largest “shop to support” campaign, with 10% of all Cycle Gear, J&P Cycles, and RevZilla purchases made on Sept. 12 donated to PBTF. Shop in-store or online at www.cyclegear.com, www.jpcycles.com, and www.revzilla.com.
We want to thank you for your understanding of this difficult decision and continued commitment to Ride for Kids. Because our reason for riding hasn’t changed: the children and teens at the heart of our mission still need your support. Together, we can build a world without childhood brain tumors -- a world that children deserve. If you have any questions, please let us know at [email protected].
